Brain Tumor

Introduction:

What is Brain Tumor?

If you have brain cancer, you have an abnormal growth that starts in the brain or a mass that has spread from cells that started in other parts of your body. It can happen in the brain, the cranial nerves, the meninges, the pituitary gland, or the pineal gland, among other places in the head.

Neurological exams and tests like MRIs, CT scans, and biopsies are used by doctors to find brain tumors.

After careful waiting, treatment choices need to be looked into. One of these is surgery. You can get radiotherapy, chemotherapy, or focused treatment. Treatment plans generally include a mix of the different types of operations. Find out more about how to treat brain cancer here.

A headache, mood changes, sickness, vomiting, and problems with walking are some of the most common signs that someone has high intracranial pressure. Find out more about the signs of brain cancer here.

The National Brain Tumor Society says that there are more than 120 different kinds of brain tumors. Most of them are gliomas, which start in the brain tissue and are supporting. About a third of all brain tumors and other cancers in the nervous system start in glial cells.

What kinds of brain tumors are there?
Brain tumors come in more than 120 different types. To regulate contact between health networks around the world, the World Health Organization (WHO) created a system of categories and grades. The goal is to better plan care and make more accurate and planned predictions about how things will turn out.

But brain tumors are divided into two groups based on where they start:

1. Primary brain tumors start in brain tissue and stay there for a long time.
b. Brain tumors that come back are more likely. These cancers start in different parts of the body and spread to the brain. Some of the most common types of cancer that can spread to the brain are lung, breast, kidney, colon, prostate, and skin cancer.

There are brain tumors that have cancer cells and ones that don’t:

Noncancerous brain tumors don’t have any cancer cells in them. They grow slowly and can always be taken out. They don’t usually spread to other parts of the brain. Depending on where they are, tumors can be very dangerous to your life.
Brain tumors that are cancerous have cancer cells in them. Cells can grow at different rates, but they can get into healthy brain tissue around them. These don’t usually spread past the brain or spinal cord.
What Kinds of Brain Tumors There Are
These are the types of brain cancer that people most often get:

Astrocytomas are. These often begin in the cerebrum, which is the largest part of the brain. They make people have seizures or change how they act.
Meningiomas are. These are the most common types of brain tumors in people. Most likely to happen in the 1970s or 1980s. The meninges, which line the brain, are where they begin. They could be grades 1 through 3. In most cases, spread doesn’t happen with these.
Oligodendrogliomas are brain growths. These start in the cells that make the coat that keeps nerves safe. Most of the time, they are grades 1 through 3. They often spread to nearby tissue and grow slowly.
The types of tumors that kids get most often are

Medulloblastoma: This type of tumor normally starts in the brain. A primitive neuroectodermal tumor is another name for it. It is a grade IV.
Grade I or II astrocytoma: This is a low-grade growth that can happen anywhere in the brain of a child. Teenagers and kids are most likely to have juvenile pilocytic astrocytoma. It’s an I.
When you have an ependymoma, the growth grows from cells that line the ventricles, or center canal, of your spinal cord. Most of the time, kids and young people have it. It could be grade I, II, or III.
Brainstem glioma: This type of growth is found at the base of the brain. It could be a high-grade or low-grade growth. The type that happens most often is called diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma.
